Introducing Baby Nathan

Image
I'm way behind on this- life has been so crazy and wonderful lately! I need to take a minute to introduce our baby boy. Nathan James arrived on August 5th. All of the sleepless nights and blow out diapers are so, so worth it! We are so in love with him! So excited to start this new chapter as an SLP Mama! Maternity Photos

Image
Okay, as promised, I am excited to share a few of my favorite maternity photos! A special thank you is in order to my big sister- who also happens to be a professional photographer ( Janet Miller Photo ). She is truly amazing at what she does! Now we have just around a month to go until we meet this little boy! I certainly don't want to rush him, but I'm pretty excited for him to arrive. I'm also hoping his arrival will mean the disappearance of my super glamorous cankles. In case you missed it, you can read about my baby shower here . Wishing you all a happy and healthy summer!

Baby Shower

We're eagerly awaiting the arrival of baby boy in this household! It seemed so long ago that my family and close friends were discussing plans for my baby shower, but it finally came and went! I thought I would share some memories from the special day. The morning began with a hair appointment, followed by a quick maternity photoshoot. My sister is such a talented photographer, and I'm so excited to see the pictures after she's had a chance to edit them! My awesome friend Eileen hosted, and put together a very special "Harry Potter-themed" day to celebrate my little one! It was so perfect and laid-back. Another friend of mine that attended was gracious enough to let me share some of her photos from the fun event! We had a onesie-and-bib decorating station. Guests got to draw with fabric and puffy paints directly onto the bibs and onesies, and I have to say, we have some pretty talented ladies that attended! Pictured is the onesie that won the prize for favorite (...

5 Things You Didn't Know About This SLP {Linky Party Hosted By The Speech Space}

Image
The Speech Space is hosting this fabulous linky party {read more here }. I'm so excited to share 5 things you (probably) didn't know about me. 1. I'm from Ohio (born and raised) but went to Texas (University of North Texas, to be exact) for grad school. The reason? I needed a warm winter. Just one. Just... one.... 2 & 3. I am a super nerd. Super. Nerd. I have a huge obsession with medieval history, and have a room in my house that is medieval-history themed. It includes a sword (yes, a legit sword) and a tapestry. We are about to renovate this room and I'm PUMPED. Pictures coming soon. 4. Back to the nerd thing. We are OBSESSED with Game of Thrones (the show and the books)... (Winter is coming...) ...and I have a huge obsession with the Wars of the Roses, which I think resembles some of the drama in Game of Thrones. 5. Last but not least, we take holidays very seriously in my house. VERY. Seriously. I'm so glad you stopped by. You now know what a HUGE nerd I a...

Ireland and Northern Ireland Vacation

Image
My husband and I recently traveled to Ireland and Northern Ireland for our spring vacation. It was such a wonderful trip! We rented a car and drove all around with two of our friends. Along the way, we tried to visit as many Game of Thrones sights as possible (we are obsessed!) We flew in and out of the Shannon Airport. Our first stop: Cliffs of Moher. If you haven't been... it's a must see. It was incredibly beautiful. It was also very windy (we went in the beginning of April), so dress appropriately! Our next stop was Galway. While there, I stopped by the Hall of the Red Earl, an archaeological site in the middle of the city. We loved Galway. There were great pubs, restaurants, and more! Once back on the road, we couldn't help but stop sometimes to just enjoy the scenery. It's green and beautiful and we saw TONS of sheep! We stopped to check out this beautiful waterfall (Boho Cave) where some scenes with Beric Dondarrion were shot in Game of Thrones. Continuing on w...
