FREE Speech Therapy Valentine's Day Activities

Image
I am SO, so excited because... FRANKIE'S BACK! In case you missed him at Halloween or Christmas ... click those links. Your fav frog is back, and I've again teamed up with some amazing SLP blogging buddies to bring you FREE Speech Therapy Valentine's Day activities ! As usual, it all starts with a song. Since my students absolutely love listening to me sing (I really haven't figured out why yet, my voice is terrrrrrible), the words in this story/ song combination pair perfectly with "The Wheels on the Bus". It's all about a frog named Frankie, just basically living the dream, and loving Valentine's Day. I included a color ink version for you, and a low ink version for your students to take home. Download the story here . Somehow, every time I write these nerdy song/stories, my SLP friends can create incredible materials to go along with them! So, here we go... The Speech Owl created phonemic awareness activities for you that your students are going ...

It's Spring! Fresh Ideas for Speech Therapy

Image
I'm feeling excited to have the opportunity today to link up with the Frenzied SLPs for their super fun spring-themed blog hop! I've enjoyed reading all of the posts so far and have gotten some fresh ideas for therapy! I'm currently on spring break right now, and enjoying every second with my baby boy... but I do know that next week will be here soon! So here's what I have planned for April in my speech therapy room: Spring makes me think of rain, puddles, and bugs. If you're looking for a quick, low ink activity for your preschoolers, you might want to scoop up my bug-themed Preschool Print & Go packet . I'm planning on targeting directives and requesting with my kiddos who use AAC. That frog toy, by the way, is about $5 at Walmart. It's pretty awesome, because it croaks. Seriously. I got it last week, sooo... hop on that deal. Literally. (OH, and p.s. That's my personal iPad, and a communication app I have ON my personal iPad. It's called LAMP...

Freebie! Social Story & Worksheet

Image
It's Sunday evening, and once again, my weekend went by WAY too fast! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job, but oh how I enjoy sleeping in and lounging in my sweatpants as well! I was very busy this weekend. I set up a Twitter account, so please make sure to follow me. I also created this freebie for my store. It's a social story that I recently created for one my students who has been having some trouble with hitting and kicking classmates and family members. I figured some of my other speechies out there might have need for this story as well! Be sure to download this freebie at my TPT Store . I LOVE feedback, so please consider letting me know how you plan on using this in therapy. FREEBIE! Auditory Bombardment Homework

Image
Phonology therapy is absolutely one of my favorites. I usually start the year off by being known as "Miss Tawen, the Peech Teacher", and by the END of year, it's Miss Karen, and yes, you're in SP eech therapy. One of my other favorite quotes? "Miss Tawen, why do I doe to peech?" I see SO much progress with my kids using a cycles approach (check out Barbara Hodson's books if you want to learn more!) I usually use minimal pairs, and sending home practice words along with auditory bombardment lists has been huge. I've seen a lot of growth in so many kiddos. I made this product to target cluster reduction of /s/ blends (intial /sn/, /sm/, /sk/, /sp/, /st/, /sw/) . Each page contains parent instructions. Oh, and by the way, there really isn't a reason NOT to download it. It's a FREEBIE, so please snag it! I'd just really appreciate it if you stopped by my store and followed me ! More products (including phonology materials) are in the work...
